Teach them what situations to avoid when they are in the lake, ocean or pool. Also, teach them what to do if they do find themselves in a dangerous situation. Knowledge is power and teaching your children gives them the tools they need to stay alive.

Never leave children unattended in or around water

It might be tempting to run into the house, to shore, etc. because your kids know how to swim and you’re sure they’ll be okay. You never know what could happen, so stay close to your kids and keep an eye on them at all times.
