Let’s face it. You either love winter or hate it. The chillingly cold days, layers of clothing, and snow-covered backyard, all come together to give you some pretty tough times. However, it doesn’t have to be a drag! (We promise.) In fact, with a little bit of effort and creativity, you can have lots of fun during the winter months.

To help spark some excitement, here is a list of fun winter activities that you can enjoy with your family no matter how cold it gets!

1) Cook Up A Storm

Huddle up with your kids inside the kitchen and cook something delicious. You can try your hand at so many things — for example, snowman pancakes, cut-out sandwiches, and other edible winter crafts.

2) Go Sledding

Take your children sledding! You can also indulge in other fun winter activities, such as snowball fights, making snow angels, building snow forts, and more!

3) Make Paper Snowflakes

Let’s get creative! There is a range of craft ideas made of paper from which to experiment. Make beautiful paper snowflakes and hang them up in unexpected places around your home.

4) Play Board Games

Take out your favorite board games from the closet and introduce them to your children. Teach them a few tricks while you are at it!

5) Read A Book Together

Turn your ‘me’ time into family fun time! Get into your pajamas, huddle together with the kids on your bed, and read exciting stories from your favorite books while you sip your cup of hot cocoa.

6) Create An Advent Calendar

Not only it will be fun to craft together, but it will also give you and your family a chance to experience Christmas joy every day of the month! A great bonding exercise, we must say.

7) Do A Good Deed

This winter, make someone happy. Collect old winter coats from family members and friends, and donate them to a local charity.

8) Watch Christmas Favorites

Winter is truly incomplete without watching some good Christmas movies! Bring out the classics, pull your cushions together, and you are all set!

9) Decorate Your Home

Christmas will be here before you know it, so don’t wait to decorate your home? Get creative with your kids and see what unique ideas you can come up with. Or, check out online DIY decoration projects for a little inspiration.

11) Watch A Winter Sport

There is nothing more exciting than rooting for your favorite local team as it goes up against the competition. Hockey, football or basketball, go with your children to enjoy the game together.

12) Write Holiday Letters

It will be both a fun and a learning exercise for your kids. Not to mention, it will be a good bonding exercise as well. Help your kids as they write letters to Santa, their grandparents or friends. Add colors and drawings to make them even more festive.
